Jeffery was a good friend. He was loyal and trustworthy.
Hambone, Junior, Gomer, Jeffery, Raymond, and a bunch of us were in Bill Bowers Cove sometime in the early 1980s. We partied a lot in the Cove -- it had a good swimming hole and lots of shade. The Cove was secluded but did not have a lot of parking space so as the crowd grew, we favored the End of the Pavement.
Jeffery and his brothers were a big part of our lives. We were always glad when they arrived at the party.
Jeff was wearing a Hank t-shirt. Hank Williams wrote a couple of our theme songs. Old Hank was country but he crossed over into the rock world with no trouble.
The first song that I thought of was Country State of Mind.
Take a minute. Click on the link and listen to the song. You will remember things long forgotten.
"If the sun doesn't shine tomorrow, people I have had a good time."
This was also in The Cove. Jeffery and Tony were pitching shoes.
Jeff had nice looking legs with well defined muscles and thick black hair. Like all the Carroll boys, he was tall, dark, and handsome.
Laura was skinny with no butt but she had a beautiful face and perfect proportions. Tony had abs. Alvin cheekbones. We all had our best qualities.
I loved Jeffery's laugh. He married a girl named Sandy that made him laugh a lot. She was a lot of fun -- I took their wedding pictures but I don't know what happened to them.
Jeffery was a kindhearted, fun person -- and we loved him.
This was a small party at Junior's cabin. Tim, Bradley, Wanda, Lee Ann, Mitzi and a few others were there. That was Junior in the middle with brown pants.
Junior was good hearted and loved kids. He liked good food, good beer, and good shine.
Junior could throw a mean horseshoe. He was a big handsome man but I never saw him get into a fight -- or even get angry.
We threw empty beer cans on the ground where people parked. That was an easy way to mash them.
