After I took this picture, it had to be moved because of dune erosion.
We stayed in this cottage the first time we went. That was Gwen and Teresa on the porch.
Phil and Teresa invited us to go on this trip. I was really glad we took them up on the offer.
The Atlantic Ocean was a beautiful dark blue but the wind was fierce.
This was not a hot summer vacation. It was late spring with temps in the 60's.
Guess what room Richard picked? The one on the top floor!
That was Harry and Jim with their lady friends. Then Eddie and Marie, Jerry and Miss Hockey, and Richard. We were waiting on Phil and Teresa. They were late.
Marie was yelling at me to hurry and get a picture. The wind was whipping our hair and sending chill into our bones.
Jim, Marie, Phil, Teresa, Eddie and others enjoyed a friendly poker game.
We spent time in the kitchen preparing seafood and other delicious meals. We took turns cooking and cleaning up the messes.
There were not many restaurants on Cape Hatteras and the closest grocery store was twenty miles away.
We had our own private heated swimming pool. We turned it up on high so it was warm enough to use.
The women also tried out the pool. It was just a little bit too windy for comfort.
This was a cold, wet trip but they did catch some fish.
Richard took advantage of the hot tub. The beach house also had a game room with a pool table on the ground floor. There was plenty to keep us occupied especially with six couples sharing a house.
You don't find sea shells in Florida like this! They were everywhere on the beach at Cape Hatteras. I gathered up a box full to bring home.
