Richard hired a band to play under the pavilion. The name of the band was The Kind. We heard them at the Pickle Bash and got their contact information.
Richard's friends helped with with traffic and parking. They even had walkie talkies for communicating.
He charged $10 admission which paid for the band and the camping spots.
People were just starting to arrive -- once things got busy, I forgot to take pictures. Later in the day , this grassy area was full of cars, campers, and tents.
They enjoyed the evening at Cedar Mountain Campground.
Tony helped Richard keep everything under control.
Kathy was Tony's woman for a while. She looked on as Jerry ate a plate full of food.
Looked like chicken breast, pickles, and potato chips.
Later on that evening, I cooked three gallons of chili and tried to sell it for $2 a bowl.
People acted offended that I was charging $2 for a bowl of chili, spoon, napkin, hot sauce, and unlimited saltine crackers.
We were all used to sharing from camp to camp so I could see their point.
I ended up giving away free chili but collected a little money in my tip jar.
Richard broke even. Everyone was happy in the long run and the event was deemed a success by all.
John was around for a year or so. He hung out a lot with Len and Deb.
This man owned Cedar Mountain Campground. I think the place closed down after Haralson passed on.
Camping in North Georgia? Visit the Chamber of Commerce. They have a list of RV parks and campgrounds.
In my opinion, the best place to camp is Nottely River Campground with tubing, campfires, nature walks, fishing, swimming,a clean shower-house, and friendly faces. A good time can also be had by roughing it in Coopers Creek.
