This might be the day I met Marie and the boys.We were in Bill Bowers Cove.
Eddie and Marie were two End of the Pavement originals. Their boys, along with cousins Brad and Lisa, grew up at the End of the Pavement.
Marie was quiet when she first started coming around but that quickly changed. She never hesitated to say whatever was on her mind -- she was a brave lady.
Eddie was a hard working family man. They didn't do much drinking although Eddie did sip on a beer. I never saw either one of them drunk.
That was Joe in the cowboy hat but I don't remember the names of the other two guys beside him. Richard was center with Tony, Gomer, and Eddie to the right.
Eddie and Marie used to host some great parties, especially on Halloween. We would dress up in costumes, feast on Marie's deviled eggs, and have a ball.
He was always posing. Unlike some of the others, James liked to have his picture taken.
Eddie and Marie made it through a lot of living. This picture was taken at Hambone's funeral.
He was a good looking young man that kept us all entertained.
Later on James acquired the nickname of Root. I don't know why they called him Root or why he shaved off his hair.
